I exported the key first (as it no doubt contained WSUS information) and imported it after I finisheddownloading & installing updates. I dont think it's possible to download and install updates directly from microsoft on a server running WSUS. As always with registry changes, make a backup of the registry before you delete anything: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate Restart the "Windows Update" service after deleting the key. In my particular scenario I used the Windows Small Business Server 2011 Management Console (Backup and Server Storage -> Server Storage -> Move Windows Update Repository Data) and for some reason Purpose of having good credit when you are well-off?
