Actual 6381 MB Passed Preparing to launch Oracle Universal Installer from /tmp/OraInstall2012-06-13_0o Error: could not find Java 2 Runtime Environment. I searched the internet, and installed and reinstalled JDK and openJDK, resulting in several installations of java, which may be part of the problem, but nothing worked. Anybody know how one would extract a .txz package on a Slackware 12.1 system without breaking tar and *pkg* on 12.1 ?

The right path for me is /usr/bin/javac. Either delete it or if you don't use any commands or applications from /usr/local/bin, then remove /usr/local/bin from your PATH also post for me what this shows: Quote: /usr/local/bin/java -version marko Anyhow ...
